Round Table - Testing in the manufacturing industry - the legacy of the PNRR in the transition from 4.0 to 5.0

TECH ARENA hall 7

The transformation of the manufacturing industry is not limited to the introduction of new technologies, but requires increasingly advanced measurement, verification, validation and control capabilities. Investments sustained in recent years, also thanks to the PNRR, have accelerated the adoption of systems that make use of artificial intelligence, digital solutions, automated systems and tools to ensure sustainability. Today the challenge is to transform these investments into measurable results: quality, reliability, safety, competitiveness and sustainability.
In this scenario, testing takes on a strategic and very concrete role. It would be reductive to consider it a topic reserved for laboratories or university research. It is rather an industrial tool for reducing errors, making better decisions, validating processes, improving products and demonstrating the real value of innovation. The growing availability of production data and the use of artificial intelligence tools open up new possibilities for predictive monitoring, diagnostics, process optimisation and quality control. Precisely for this reason, the transition from Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0 makes the need for reliable measurement and testing methods even more evident, capable of verifying not only technical performance, but also the energy, environmental and organisational impact of new solutions.
The meeting, promoted by GMEE within A&T Vicenza, aims to be a moment of open discussion between companies, associations, experts and the measurement community, with the objective of reflecting on the legacy of the PNRR and on the conditions necessary to accompany Italian manufacturing into the new 5.0 phase.
Veneto, home of the trade fair, represents a particularly significant context: a strong, concrete and innovation-oriented manufacturing area, capable of offering an ideal setting to discuss testing, competitiveness and the future of production.
The round table promoted by GMEE will allow industrial visions, technical expertise and attention to the territory to be brought into dialogue.
