Event
In the technical and scientific landscape, certified reference materials are an essential element for ensuring the quality and comparability of analytical results. But what role do they play today in building trust in scientific data?
With the Round Table 'The Measure of Trust: Reference Materials in Science', Accredia promotes an interdisciplinary dialogue among experts from the academic world, metrological institutes, standardisation bodies and industry. An opportunity to explore, together with a broader audience, how the reliability of measurements is built and why it represents an essential function in numerous areas of everyday life.
From scientific research to food safety, from environmental sustainability to technological innovation, through the most recent developments in the ISO regulatory framework, the discussion will highlight the contribution of reference materials in ensuring reliable and comparable data, in support of informed decisions, safety and progress.
Through different perspectives and concrete examples, it will emerge how reference materials are much more than a technical tool: a key element of the Quality Infrastructure, capable of strengthening trust in measurement results and creating a bridge between research, innovation and society.
The event is moderated by Michela Sega - Chair of the Sectoral Committee for Accreditation of Calibration Laboratories Accredia and Researcher at INRiM
