Workshop - KnowledgeX: Platform to preserve and make company know-how accessible

Part of the added value of a manufacturing company is represented by the know-how distributed among its staff, which is difficult to manage, share and preserve. Access to this know-how can be complex in articulated structures and, with an ageing workforce, difficult to maintain through increasingly shorter handovers. KnowledgeX was created as a hardware and software solution to formalise this knowledge heritage, store it in a readable, editable and extensible form – including through automated tools – and make it queryable using the most modern instruments. In this way, knowledge becomes a shared, accessible, reusable and modifiable corporate asset that collects and integrates information from different sources – documents, procedures, machine data and operator experience – and organises it into a common, structured knowledge base. The platform can then provide users with consistent, repeatable, traceable and contextualised responses to business processes, using and connecting available knowledge instead of generating generic answers. In this way, KnowledgeX supports the transfer of competencies, reduces training times and helps operators and technicians make decisions more quickly and with greater reliability.
